One of the people I’m most grateful for in my life is my manager, Britt Hendrix. Over the years of our professional relationship we’ve also become close on a personal level (she even flew in for my baby shower!) and I have tremendous respect for how she runs her agency, Bien, and the way she helps creators grow. Since many of you are dabbling in or pursuing content creation, I thought it would be helpful for me to ask Britt some honest questions about what it’s like to be on the other side of the business—the side that’s negotiating rates, talking to brands every day, and seeing a more holistic view of the influencer landscape.

Throughout my years of growing as a creator I’ve navigated a bunch of tough situations, disappointment, and uncertainty (alongside the exciting parts, of course) and I often found myself wishing I could get an insider’s perspective. Especially in the beginning, it was hard to decipher what was normal and all part of being an influencer, and what was a red flag or potential issue. After signing on with Britt I learned so much about how to evolve my content, grow my revenue, and turn one-time deals into long-term partnerships. If you’re interested in going down the path of content creation, I highly recommend reading this interview, and if you know someone who’s pursuing a career (or even side hustle) in becoming an influencer, please share this with them!
